She’s going to meet her friends on Saturday. He’s going to play soccer tomorrow. They’re going to study this afternoon. TEACHER: Ask students to read the sentences and try to answer the question. Are the sentences referring to the present, the past or the future?

Check. The sentences refer to the future.
The future with going to expresses the idea of something certain or planned. TEACHER: Have students check the correct answer and ask them to think of other sentences using the future with going to. Write their sentences on the board.
