Successful? Achievements Referrals ↑ The family? Increase in number of people accessing AASA’s community programs and counselling team I think it is important to note the increased number of Early diagnosed (especially direct referral from GPs, geriatricians as this has historically been a big challenge that all face) which then of course leads on to increase in service provider referrals Hospital avoidance and reduction in premature entry into residential care Advocating for people with dementia and their carers: eg Support for son when he felt like no one else was listening to his issues with his Mum and her wellbeing Messages of ‘heartfelt and most sincere thanks for your care, concern and in-depth support’ As one geriatrician stated when presenting to colleagues - ‘a new solution to an old problem’ Knowing where to start can be stressful for families….DLWs can help point them in the right direction Alzheimer’s Australia SA Inc
