Changes in Combat New technology emerged during WWI that made it a very bloody war Old and new strategies combined on the battle field Tanks in the West and Horses in the East

What was trench warfare?
Series of trenches dug in the ground to avoid enemy fire. Resulted in a STALEMATE because neither side could gain any land. Dirty, disease ridden (lice, trench foot), lots of death. The average lifespan in the trenches was only a few weeks. No Man’s Land
