2. What is the Golden Age of Islam?
The Golden Age of Islam was a period of time where Islam’s art, literature, medicine, architecture, and science were great and getting better.
It was in the time period Abbassid Dynasty.

3. Art
Islamic art had very floral designs. They were extremely detailed and took a very precise hand. These designs are called arabesques.
Artists often put these designs on pottery, textiles, paper manuscripts, and even buildings. But certain materials showed wealth and had more value over others.

4. Literature
Islamic literature has so much history to it. Characters like Aladdin are even from that time. Aladdin was from a Arabic manuscript called “One Thousand and One Nights”.
Authors like Rumi and Ibn Rushd wrote poems about faith and religion. Many people still read their poems today.

5. Medicine
There were many famous doctors in the Golden Age. Al─Zahrawi, Ibn Sina, and the most famous, Al─Razi, all wrote and discovered new things about medicine.
Al-Razi cured diseases like small pox and chicken pox. He was also a highly skilled surgeon.

6. Architecture
Buildings in Islam are some of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in the world. They have very intricate designs and are one of a kind.
Some famous buildings are the Alhambra, the Umayyad palace in Spain, as well as the Dome of the Rock, a shrine in Jerusalem.
On the outside of these buildings, there are many domes and archways.

7. Science
Science advanced in the Golden Age, resulting in the first ever algebra textbook to ever be written. Facts about geometry and astronomy were also being discovered.
Ibn al─Haytham was credited to be the first scientist. He wrote a book about how eyesight works called “The Book of Optics”.
