Samuel Langhorne Clemens (Mark Twain) was born on 30 November 1835 in Florida

4. He spent his boyhood in the small town of Hannibal on the great Mississippi river.

7. In 1857 he found a job on a boat and travelled up and down the Mississippi. This is where he got his pen-name “Mark Twain” (mark two).
