21. The future
There is a conflict between the wishes of academics and many librarians. This conflict is played out in the user interfaces of CRIS systems that connect to digital repositories. Resolution of this conflict in the favour of less work on the academic would greatly aid repository deposit. Helping the user: anything that allows clarification of publisher policy by a machine (in the context of a particular publication) will help greatly. Consider multiple repository deposit (OA-RJ). Helping the librarian: Librarians are increasingly asking for RoMEO data to be passed through into digital repositories.
