Civilian Investigative Unit
Investigates non-criminal allegations against District employees and is one of several investigative offices: CIU, GIU, CRC, OIG

Rules of the State of Florida Board of Education
CIU has the authority to investigate alleged violations of (but not limited to): School Board Policies Rules of the State of Florida Board of Education

Social Media Sexually suggestive pictures, videos, invitations, harassment, personal views, inappropriate conversations Be Aware: Students record your behavior with their smartphones Any of these could lead to a determination of PROBABLE CAUSE Policy

Student Supervision & Welfare
Don’t: Leave students unsupervised, use your cell phone, yell and scream, hit, inappropriate relationships Any of these could lead to a determination of PROBABLE CAUSE Policy

Field Trips Must be approved by the Principal!!!!!
Chaperones – if not approved don’t invite or allow to attend, stay over night, participate, etc. Don’t transport students in your or anyone else’s private vehicle (requires significant approvals) Don’t organize any event off campus unless it as approved by the Principal (parks, private home, banquet halls, mall, restaurants) Don’t consume Alcohol while on duty!!!!! Fund Raisers/Booster Clubs
All fund raising activities & booster clubs MUST be approved by your PRINCIPAL and perhaps Region Can’t promote during school hours /events unless profit from the activity is being used directly for school purposes (Internal Funds) Boosters: Employees CANNOT handle $$$, Must have BYLAWS, approved by Principal, liability insurance Don’t accept compensation or gifts from vendors (Conflict of Interest) Policy Policy Policy

Threatening Behavior Don’t (students, staff, parents):
