3. Legal Status in Germany: Refugees
Article 1 of the Geneva Convention on Refugees: refugees are persons who are outside their home country and are threatened by race, religion, nationality, political conviction or belonging to a certain social group
a refugee recognized by the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees has the same rights as an asylum seeker, i.e. a residence permit for three years and a work permit
after three years, the protection status is checked

4. EU rules for refugees: Written down in Geneva Convention
definition of a refugee:
people threatened by their race, religion, nationality, political conviction or belonging to a certain group outside their home country
responsible for decision about asylum
accepted refugees are allowed to stay in the new country for three years

5. Asylum seekers have the same rights as refugees in Germany
German Constitution Article 16a :
Asylum is granted to everybody who is persecuted politically

6. Migrants

in most cases, a migrant is someone who leaves a country to improve the living conditions, not because they are in danger in their home country
