1 Welcome to Grand Rapids!

2 Radley Breakout Session
Customer experiences will tell the story of what differentiates a true workforce productivity platform from standard barcoding.

3 ITW Powertrain Fastening
Presenter David Dix and Hugh Bartels ITW Powertrain Fastening

4 ITW Powertrain Fastening
Designer & Manufacturer of Fastener Products… Located in Lexington, Kentucky Manufacturing also in Connecticut, Germany and China Supplier of deep-drawn & light-duty metal stampings, self- locking metal fasteners and washers as well as 2-piece and 3-piece assemblies. Supplies the OEM and Tier automotive market and is part of Illinois Tool Works, Inc., a Fortune 200 company

5 Challenge/Pain Points Summary
Lot Control & Part Traceability We needed to have FULL lot control from raw to finished goods Streamlined, Flexible Transactions We needed to eliminate manual entry and additional steps required to perform a transaction User Interface We wanted to replicate our old, existing UI that our users were familiar and comfortable with

6 ITW Profile Implemented in 2013 Solutions 24 Radley Devices
Barcode Data Collection Product Traceability utilizing IntelliLabel® 24 Radley Devices “Replacing our home grown system…it would not have worked without the union of QAD and Radley”

7 Extending QAD Functionality
Part Traceability & Lot Controlled Backflush Control Standard QAD functionality didn’t provide the level of control over the lot logic that we needed from raw to finished goods All Traceability in Radley Tracking Lot/Heat Automated Stamping Process Assembly Process Tracking Lot/Heat Heat = Supplier Lot in QAD Stamping process creates bins with thousands of parts (screws) Material is backflushed against coil Assembly Process separates bins into boxes with additional components which are then placed on skids. (manual) Some customers require specific labels Automated Stamping Process Multiple versions of the Unplanned Issue/Receipt transactions allow for entry of: Gross/Tare pounds with the net pieces being issued or received, pounds converted to pieces to be issued or received and pieces being issued/received. When scanned, IntelliLabel is added to QAD W.O. Automated Backflush Assembly Process Customer specific master and detail assembly labels are generated/printed in batch for a skid Work Order Receipt – reports inventory and backflush by lot for primary components and FIFO for other components. Skids can be viewed/split/manipulated using the Intellilabel Maintenance and Intellilabel Inquiry

8 Extending QAD Functionality
Configurable Functionality Flexibility Prior to implementing QAD, we used a custom system developed specifically to meet our needs We attempted to mimic our existing processes in QAD, but would have required significant customizations without Radley Automated QAD Transactions Radley helped us to streamline time consuming transactions to be more efficient and configure them to fit our existing processes Incoming Receipt | PO Label Print | Location Transfer by Net Weight | Reset Bin Pounds | Shipper Workbench | Mixed Customer Labels | Mfg Bin Entry | Assembly Production | Work Order Maintenance

9 Extending QAD Functionality
User Interface Easy to Use Our users were accustomed to a very simple UI in our old custom system, QAD’s cumbersome transactions presented a challenge in training our workforce doing machine operation and production on the floor Radley allowed us to harness their automated transaction functionality, but using our own existing UI “Teaching our users to perform the transactions within QAD would have been a HUGE learning curve…”

10 Extending QAD Functionality
Integration with other systems Radley’s open architecture We wrote a communication proxy to send transaction data to Radley from other applications Examples: Supplier ASN website; Subcontract ship/receive

11 Extending QAD Functionality
Integration with other systems Application (windows or web) Transaction(s) through Radley Supplier ASN (all sites) PO Receipt, Transfer, Backflush Subcontract ship/receive (all sites) Transfer, PO Receipt Production front end (Waterbury) WO Receipt with backflush Packaging Line (Waterbury) Transfer with Lot change Scale to weigh scrap (Zeeland) Issue Unplanned Shipping application (Zeeland) Shipper’s workbench “We have integrated over 10 external systems to QAD via Radley…it bridged our Progress and SQL data

12 Benefits Business Impact Gained the ability to configure our workflows to our specific business process, not QAD’s Added additional lot control functionality without customizing QAD Minimized learning curve & prevented need for additional labor “All these little things that add up to being much more efficient in our daily operations…”

16 Challenge/Pain Points Summary
Budget Constraints There was a need for an automated EDI process, however the costs associated to an QAD EDI engagement wasn’t within our budget Staff Bandwidth A QAD EDI implementation was going to require substantial resources Inefficient Inventory Process Manually tracking and lack of traceability created slowdowns in our process

17 Shield Profile QAD Implemented in 2007 Radley iCARas EDI in 2009
Radley Data Collection in 2012 23 DC Licenses

18 Extending QAD Functionality
Full Service EDI Solution Without Breaking the Bank EDI Budget Radley provided a turn-key solution that was implemented quickly and at a fraction of the cost Implementation included set-up and mapping of trading partners Open architecture allowed us to create a simple data transfer from Radley to QAD Radley EDI is a full service solution, not a consulting engagement…

19 QAD ECommerce Step by Step

20 Extending QAD Functionality
Radley Services Alleviates Staff Involvement Resource Consumption Radley not only economically handled the mapping, testing and deployment of our EDI transaction sets during implementation but also continues to provide ongoing services to the relief of our IT staff Trading Partner Certification Future Mapping Changes Included in purchase of trading partner Manage Version Level Upgrades Support of Communication Scripts

21 Radley ECommerce Foundation
EDI XML CSV Custom Radley ECommerce Foundation Radley Simplified Process After edi resources

22 Extending QAD Functionality
No Fuss Data Collection Simple to use Radley provided a simple and easy to use interface, making our inventory and lot tracking processes more efficient Automated and streamlined QAD transactions Eliminated data entry and obtained real-time view Alleviated time consuming lot tracking process “We implemented Radley data collection in our China location with little to no assistance…”

23 Benefits Automated numerous, manual processes across operations
Business Impact Automated numerous, manual processes across operations Improved overall customer service and our supplier rating Relieved bottlenecks in production Freed up valuable resources to focus on internal activities

24 Shield Restraint Systems
