2 Three Guiding Principles
Be Kind Be Honest Be Responsible

3 Classroom Procedures Arrival/Dismissal
Bring reading book, sharpened pencils, paper, and required materials to class each day. Take your seat upon entering the class. Begin silent reading or completing the bell activity on the board. Fill out daily planner with homework (posted on board each day).

4 Classroom Procedures Arrival/Dismissal(cont.)
Bring signed note if arriving late to class. Pick up supplies and trash before leaving. I will dismiss the class, not the bell. 8th hour – stack chairs.

5 Classroom Procedures Class Conduct
Listen while I am talking or your peers are talking. Stay focused on the task during group activity. All eyes on me while I am talking. Position bodies towards me. Limit walking around the room while I am talking or giving instructions. Raise your hand if you have a question. Be respectful during group discussions. Fill out the “Planner” if requesting to leave the room. Restroom for emergencies only (please take care of during passing periods!)

6 Classroom Procedures Late Assignments/Homework
Homework is expected to be turned on time. Make arrangements with me prior to the due date if you need additional assistance. Late assignments will be deducted 10% off overall grade for that assignment. We will follow the “Academic Opportunity” process for missed and late assignments (call home and detentions if needed). Use MLA format on all papers (heading). Class activities and homework assignments can be found in Student/Parent Vue.

7 Classroom Procedures Tardies - includes being late to class and not having proper materials before the bell rings. 3rd Tardy = 15 minute detention and filling out “Think Sheet” reflection 4th Tardy = 15 minute detention and call home Additional tardies will be handled case by case Other behavior and discipline issues handled on individual basis. 3rd incident = 15 minute detention filling out “Think Sheet” reflection.
