Stock Report Template SCSU Investment Club Fall 2015
Prepared by Nick Gearhart Updated 09/01/2015
2
Disclaimer This stock report template is simply a guide to follow, additional research can be added. Not all parts of this template need to be within your own report, but ensure that critical metrics are not left out. Referencing an existing created stock report will help in the production of your own. Please feel free to reach out to any board member if you need help or have questions. Just like anything in life… the more stock reports you work on and present, the more familiar you are with the process and development. Remember that less is more… be concise and only include information that you understand while presenting.
3
Tools and Resources Morningstar Investment Research Center (Library Database) (SCSU pays for this access – best research available for us in my opinion) Fidelity Yahoo Finance Marketwatch CNBC, Reuters, MSN Money, etc. If you have an account through an online brokerage they often have great research platforms (Options House and Wells Fargo Brokerage work great for me) Investopedia.com (This website defines anything related to finance and investments) “Snipping Tool” (this is what it is called on PC’s, not entirely sure what Mac users possess) This is programmed into your computer/laptop under the ‘programs’ tab and in the ‘Accessories’ folder. This can be used to snip pictures on the screen and paste them into your report (graphs, measures, etc.)
