2 Why CARE? Our department has strong interest in research.
2/4/15 Why CARE? Our department has strong interest in research. Without a full study team, it is difficult to conduct research on top of existing responsibilities.

3 2/4/15 What is CARE? CARE is a one-stop shop for department members who want help conducting clinical research. Our goal is to simplify and streamline research endeavors in the department, and help make you more successful in your research.

2/4/15 CARE Performance Metrics Active protocols – Approximately 37 Patients enrolled relative to targets Completed studies - 0 Publications & Presentations – 11 publications, 4 presentations *NB: all publications, presentations, etc. must acknowledge CARE* Number of users – 12 projects presented to CARE (Oct-Jan) Funding brought in – Support from existing awards. No new awards Path of research assistants/coordinators – most continuing, several advancing to medical school Customer satisfaction surveys – results currently being compiled

Upcoming Topics: Feb: Statistics: power calculations, sample size estimates Mar: Grantsmanship Apr: IRB application process May: Research consenting June: Source documentation Discussion are problem-based using specific examples from the audience – bring your own study questions Topics generated based on August 2014 survey responses
