Eligibility Criteria : Pass in Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent from any Govt. recognised Board. Minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).  Minimum 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII. For admission to B.Tech (Marine Engineering) degree course, it is mandatory to pass the Common Entrance Test conducted by Indian Maritime University, which is known as IMU CET. ……..contd

1. A pass in Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent from any Govt. recognised Board ( passed in first attempt ) 2. Minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).  3. Minimum 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII. 4. For admission in B.Tech (Marine Engineering) degree course , it is mandatory to pass with good rank in the Common Entrance Test conducted by Indian Maritime University, which is known as IMU CET.   Age : Below 25 years.  Medical Examination : Must be found medically fit by Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) approved Doctors identified by   the Institute.  Eye Sight :  1. Shall be neither "colour blind" nor "night blind". 2. Power for each eye is permitted upto ± 2 for B.S.(ME) Students.  5. Age : years 6. Medical Examination : Declared medically fit by the institute Doctors approved by Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) . 7. Eye Sight : 1. Shall be neither “colour blind” nor “night blind”. 2. Power : Distance vision unaided 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67(6/9) in better eye and 0.33(6/18 ) in other eye.

6 INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY ONLINE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST(IMU-CET)
Candidates will be required to pass the CET in order to become eligible to take admission in B.Tech(Marine Engineering) The IMU online Registration form is available in IMU Website Registration fees is Rs. 1000/- for general candidates and Rs. 700/- for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates to be paid to IMU. INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY ONL INE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (IMU-CET) will be held at 35 cities all over India on Saturday May 27, 2017. RLINS will assist the candidates in filling up the form for IMU at the institute on any day between 10 am and 3 pm. (except Sundays) ……contd

7 For filling up the form at RLINS candidate has to come in person with the following original documents: 10th mark list Date of birth certificate Community Certificate(for SC/ST/OBC candidates,wherever applicable ) 2 Passport size Colour photographs An amount of: Rs. 1060/- (General Category Candidates) Rs. 760/- (SC/ST Category Candidates) which is inclusive of bank charges Last date for registration of IMU Registration form: May 08, 2017(Monday) For IMU application and other details about IMU-CET please visit  and  click on the CET May 2017 hyperlink RLINS will assist to appear for IMU-CET as detailed below

Power for each eye is permitted upto ± 2 for B.S.(ME) Students.  IMUCET PRACTICE AND MOCKUP TEST AND APPLICATION FOR RESERVATION OF SEAT Any Candidate who is desirous of taking admission in B.Tech (Marine Engineering) affiliated to Indian Maritime University should successfully pass and get good rank in the IMU-CET online entrance test. An intensive practice is required to achieve the above objective. For this RLINS is providing practice / mockup test through online as well as at the campus. Candidates can register art RLINS online for practice/mockup test. visit RLINS website

9 For registration of practice/mock up test at RLINS Candidate to follow the procedure as below.
Visit RLINS website and click “Registration form” Fill up the form on line (at free of cost) . After submission of  the form the candidate will be provided with “User Id Number” – (Your Application Number) Click RLINS IMU CET practice test . After getting the link, please fill up your Application Number as username and “Date of birth” as password. Then you will get the link for practice/mock up test.

10 The candidate either can appear for practice test/mock up test will be conducted through online as well as in the campus. DATE & TIME FOR PRACTICE/MOCK UP TEST: At Institute:   Practice Test: April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 2017(Saturdays) AM to 1 PM Mock Up Test: May 19, 20, 21 & 22, 2017 – 10 AM to 1PM Online: Practice Test:  On any day after April 10, 2017 Mock Up Test   :   On any day after May 19, 2017 Candidate can download the question bank from RLINS website free of cost after logging in using his username and password.

11 RESERVATION OF SEAT 1. The Candidate can reserve the seat in RLINS by paying Rs.5000/- which will be adjusted against first semester fees. 2. Reservation fee of Rs.5,000/- to be paid by any of the following options : Option - 1 : National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) Option - 2 : Demand Draft …….contd

12 Option : 1 Through any bank by NEFT (National Electronic Fund Transfer) facility. The following details are to be furnished for remitting the fees through NEFT mode. Name of beneficiary : R.L. Institute of Nautical Sciences Name and Address of : City Union Bank beneficiary’s Bank 70, Tamil Sangam Road, Madurai Account No : Current A/c No. : IFSC Code : CIUB After making payment through NEFT mode, the banker will give you a unique transaction receipt number called UTR Number. This UTR Number must be furnished by the candidate in the online application form.

The same is to be sent to the following address alongwith a printout of the application form submitted online. R.L. 14 1. If the candidate does not want to reserve the seat the application
can be submitted on line without payment of Rs.5,000/-. 2. If the candidate does not want to take admission due to non eligibility, the reservation fees paid by the candidate will be refunded. 3. If the eligible candidate does not want to take admission for any other reason, the reservation fees paid will not be refunded. Application processing fee of Rs.1,000/- along with appropriate DD Commission should be remitted to the bank by the candidate at the time of taking Demand Draft.

15 Submission of Annexure AND MARK sheet
An Annexure of the application is to be filled and submitted online by the candidate. This he can do after the publication of his respective examination results and award of marks. The candidate will submit the copy of the following documents mark sheets of 10th and 12th transfer certificate conduct certificate birth certificate. Community certificate (for SC/ST candidate) along with the filled in Annexure form.

16 PROVISIONAL ADMISSION
1. Institute receives the Annexure which furnishes +2 marks along with copy of mark sheet. 2. Candidate will be provisionally selected based on the marks and pass in IMU-CET. 3. Selected candidate will be issued with a Provisional Admission Letter on-line. Hard copy will be sent to the candidate simultaneously by post.

17 MEDICAL FITNESS 1. Provisionally selected candidate must undergo medical examination to assess his fitness for maritime profession. 2. DGS approved doctors of the Institute will conduct medical examination and eye test at selected centers. Candidate can choose any of the doctors listed in our website. Click here for the list of doctors. 3. Candidate pays Rs.2,500/- directly to the Doctor for medical examination. 4. The Doctor will inform the candidate as well as the Institute about his medical fitness. 5. If found fit, the Doctor will hand over the hard copies of the medical report to the candidate in a sealed envelope. 6. Candidate must submit the sealed envelope to the Institute at the time of admission which is mandatory.

18 PAYMENT OF FEES 1. To confirm admission, the candidate has to pay the first semester fees within the time specified in the provisional admission letter. First Semester fee is to be paid by any of the following options : Option - 1 : National Electronic Fund Transfer Through any bank by NEFT (National Electronic Fund Transfer) facility. The following details are furnished for remitting the fees through NEFT mode. Name of beneficiary : R.L. 20 SECOND EYE TEST 1. Candidate, confirmed for admission, will have to undergo a second eye test at Madurai by the Institute’s Ophthalmologist before the start of the course. In case the candidate's eye sight is proved defective in the Second Eye test, his admission will stand cancelled and the fees paid will be refunded after deducting the applicable administrative charges as per the refund rules of the Institute. 2. This second eye test is conducted at Madurai to safeguard the interest of the students and to ensure 100% compliance with the required norms. This will also avoid any problem to the candidate at a later date with the Shipping Company or any employer related to shipping industry.

21 ADMISSION CONFIRMATION
Final Admission is subject to the following : 1. Payment of first semester fee. 2. Confirmation of eye sight by the Institute’s Ophthalmologist at Madurai (Second Eye Test). 3. Verification of original documents on the date of admission.
