Warm-Up (Act II, scenes 1-2 Review)
Directions: Use either your memory or the textbook to answer the following questions. Write them down in your own paper wherever you keep your warm-ups. Instead of returning home, where does Romeo go after the ball? How does Romeo learn of Juliet’s love for him? What do Romeo and Juliet exchange? What do Romeo and Juliet plan to do the next day? Who keeps interrupting the balcony scene? Why does Juliet ask Romeo NOT to swear by the moon?

6. Why does Juliet ask Romeo NOT to swear by the moon? Juliet asks Romeo not to swear his love on the moon. She says not to because the moon changes all the time in size. She doesn’t want Romeo’s love to change all the time too. She wants him to love her all the time, forever, without any change.

Act II, Scenes 5-6 questions
The nurse is labeled as one of Shakespeare’s most “comic” characters. Give a specific examples how she seems comic. What news the nurse bring Juliet? How does Juliet react to the news? Act II is primarily a happy, romantic act. However within Scene ii and Scene iv, there are lines that foreshadow their untimely death. Find the lines in these TWO scenes OR find ONE instance of foreshadowing within one of the other four scenes in this act. The friar agrees to marry Romeo and Juliet so they will be happy but has another motive. What is his other motive? Who is the more “mature” character? Romeo or Juliet? Why?
