By the end of this lesson: All must be able to define communication Should be able to explain different types of methods of communication and give examples of each Could evaluate why barriers to communication might exist Understand why communication is important in a business

4 Communication: What is it?
Communication is the transmission of a message from a sender to a receiver. One way communication is when the sender sends the message but doesn’t get a message back in return Two way communication is when the person receiving the message can reply to the sender. Question: How would you know if someone has understood your message?

5 How good are you at communicating to others?
Working in a pair (ONLY in PAIRS) One will be taking a ‘handout’ (in a moment) the other a scrap of paper & a pencil Stand back to back…. one with a pencil will have to listen & draw whatever your partner tells you! NO CHEATING!!!!!!!!!! NO LOOKING!!!!! The other partner will be explaining what they can see (NO SHOWING IT!!!!)
