2. Matthew 3:7-8
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

3. “JESUS’ PURPOSE” Was John was rude and uncouth?
23 John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’” (John 1:23)

4. Matthew 3:11
11 “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry.

5. Matthew 3:11-12
11 …He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

6. “JESUS’ PURPOSE” He will empower you.
11 He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 3:11)
3 I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. (Isa. 44:3)

7. Ezekiel 36:27
27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

8. Ezekiel 37:14
14 I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.’”

10. “JESUS’ PURPOSE”
Baptize means to dip into, or to plunge.

11. Titus 3:3
3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

12. Titus 3:4-5
4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,
5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

5 Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

14. “JESUS’ PURPOSE” He will purify you.

11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

15 …“Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” (Matt. 3:15)
17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” (Matt. 3:17)
