Mason County, Kentucky. The house in Washington, Ky., where Harriet Bleacher Stowe stayed when preparing material for Uncle Tom's Cabin. It was here at Washington that she saw "Uncle Tom" sold on the slave block at the Courthouse door. The old Courthouse burned in 1909.
