3
Branches of Science Science is divided into social science and natural science. Natural science is generally divided into 3 branches: Physical science Earth and space science Life science
4
Physical Science Chemistry and physics are physical sciences.
Chemistry is the study of the makeup, structure, properties, and reactions of matter. Physics is the study of matter and energy and the interactions between the two through forces and motion.
5
Earth Science The foundation of Earth science is geology, the study of the origin, history, and structure of the earth. The foundation of space science is astronomy, the study of the universe beyond earth, including the sun, moon, planets, and stars. Can you name what is studied in meteorology?
6
Life science The study of living things is known as biology, or life science. Like other branches of science, there are many divisions within biology: Can you name what is studied in Zoology? Botany? Ecology? Genetics?
