3. Vision & Mission We have a strong desire to
build the Body of Christ in love and truth
and to reach into the community, commending the Gospel by the way we live

4. Internal growth
We aim to provide a loving, accepting, nurturing environment for believers, to be a supportive community with a sense of family commitment which spans all age ranges.
Sunday services are informal and participatory, with a strong emphasis on planned Bible teaching. We maintain a focus on the Lord Jesus Christ himself through regular celebration of Communion.
Midweek, we meet weekly at the church centre for Bible discussion and prayer.

5. Community focussed, while open to attract …
Good transport links have meant that people have been willing to travel some distance to meet at Cholmeley.
While we are keen to welcome all who come, we believe that at this time we should be concentrating our efforts on building bridges for the Gospel into the community around the church building.

6. Existing outreach & future direction …
There is a thriving Tots and Toddlers group, served through two weekly sessions.
The church café is open each week as a contact point for community outreach.
The church has always had a commitment to mission, both local and global. We have a track record of flexibility and willingness to change so that nothing gets in the way of presenting the unchangeable message of the Bible to an ever changing culture.
As God provides the manpower, we would love to develop more ways of effective, loving outreach to our neighbours.
Outreach is underpinned with prayer (dependence on the Holy Spirit to convict and call people) and a commitment to personal witnessing by all members (most adults come to faith in Christ through relationships with existing believers not through evangelistic events).

7. Some key development aims for “272”
Base for a thriving church – Highgate International Church
A Bible, theology and ministry training centre
A missions hub for international churches and cross-cultural mission in London and beyond
Resource centre and a regular venue for North London/city-wide church events

8. Growing HIC
Multiple member ministry team for church re-growth (comprised of a range of part-time, volunteer and bi-vocational people committed to regrowing HIC)
Could include ministry interns, mission workers
Current need outreach/evangelists/community workers
Later on include pastor/teachers
Strong Sunday ‘teaching and praise’ service
Bridge activities to connect through Toddlers into the community
“Alternative church” activities to connect with de-churched and unchurched 
Develop links with neighbouring churches – joint services, Churches Together in Highgate, Prayer Haringey, etc
