25
30 Hours Childcare Notional 38 weeks per year
Although the DfE refers to the entitlement in terms of 15 hours “normal” & 15 hours extended per week, they would be more accurate to refer to 570 & 570 hours per year Most cases schools will provide 38 weeks of childcare, in which case 570 & 570 hours per year translates to 15 & 15 hours per week
26
30 Hours Childcare Notional 38 weeks per year
However, schools are allowed to split the hours over a different numbers of weeks. For example, if a school actually provided 40 weeks of childcare per year, the actual hours per week would be & 14.25 In such cases it is important to report the number of hours in School Census as that for a notional 38 weeks per year, i.e. the actual & hours for the actual 40 weeks would be reported as notional 15 & 15 hours for the notional 38 weeks per year
27
30 Hours Childcare Notional 38 weeks per year
My working out to convert from 40 weeks per year to a notional 38 weeks per year 14.25 hour per week for 40 weeks is equivalent to (14.25/40) hours per week for 1 week ((14.25/40) X 38) hours per week for 38 weeks 15 hours per week for 38 weeks
28
Childcare Disability Access Fund

32
Disability Access Fund (DAF) Likely procedure for schools

Most retakes for the sixth form aren’t funded, but those forced by lack of prior attainment in maths or English are funded This means that schools have had to remember not to use the retake flag for retakes forced by lack of prior attainment in maths or English To avoid confusion, we have now renamed the flag from “Retake” to “Non Funded”

Concerns The ESFA (previously the EFA) can withhold all funding for a post-16 student where the school has not adhered to all the rules regarding prior attainment at GCSE in Maths and English as reported in School Census Autumn for that student. Reformed GCSE (9 to 1) grades can exist alongside the previous GCSE grades 9 to 4 or A* to C are acceptable grades 3 or D will normally mean staying with GCSE
