2 DESCRIPTION: Sloths are extremely slow-moving medium-sized mammals. There are two species of sloths: two-toed and three-toed. Most sloths are about the size of a small dog and they have short, flat heads. Their hair is grayish brown but, at times they look grey-green in color because they move so slowly. Some sloths stay in the same tree for years. Their long arms allow them to spend most of their time hanging upside-down from trees. Sloths rarely climb down from the trees and can live for up to 30 years.

3 WHAT TIME OF THE DAY IS THE SLOTH ACTIVE?
Sloths are nocturnals and they sleep about 18 hours a day.

4 WHERE DOES THE SLOTH LIVE WITHIN THE RAINFOREST?
Sloths lives in trees. You can found them in Central Ameria and South America.

5 WHAT DOES THE SLOTHS EAT?
Sloths eat: buds, tender shoots, leaves (mainly of Cecropia trees), Eating insects, small reptiles and birds. They also eat human feces.

6 DOES THE SLOTHS HAVE ANY NATURAL PREDATOR
DOES THE SLOTHS HAVE ANY NATURAL PREDATOR? HOW THEY AVOID THEIR PREDATORS? Sloths predators are: harpy eagles, large snakes, and jaguars. They sleep curled up with their head placed between the arms and the feet drawn close together. This disguises them as part of a tree so that its predators don’t see them.

7 WHY ARE SLOTHS UNIQUE? I think that the sloths are unique because:
they spent a lot of time sleeping. their claws are very big.

8 WHAT CAN BE DONE ENHANCE THE LIFE OF THIS ANIMAL?
We can: plants more Cecropia trees. take care of their habitat.

9 WHAT HUMAN ACTIVITIES THREATEN THE ANIMAL’S EXTINCE ?
Human cut down many trees. The humans also reduce their habitat.
