1 West Bloomfield Township Recycling Celebration Schedule of Events Recycling Day- November 18, Noon-4:30 PM (NEW TIME) All activities are are complimentary, open to the community and occur at the West Bloomfield Civic Center campus, 4550 Walnut Lake Road, West Bloomfield, MI All ages are welcome. Visit wbtownship.org for more information, lunch reservations, and the entry form for the MAKE A BIRDFEEDER FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS CONTEST Activity Time Location Remarks Look over the beautiful birdfeeder art work Donate socks or shoes to the Toasty Toes Charity. Noon-4:30 pm Trees outside Town Hall and main lobby of Town Hall Experience the wonderful birdfeeders made from repurposed objects. Vote for your favorite birdfeeder and you could win a prize! Consider bringing a donation for Toasty Toes, a charity organization that collects socks, shoes and boots for the needy. Take home a small complimentary recycling souvenir (while supplies last). Lunch & Learn Noon-1:00 pm WB Town Hall Board Room Celebrated West Bloomfield Parks & Recreation Commission Naturalist Lauren Azoury to present during the casual buffet Lunch & Learn-Reservation required. Birdfeeder Contest winners announced 12:30 pm Prizes will be awarded for the MAKE A BIRDFEEDER FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS CONTEST 1:00-2:00 pm WB Town Hall Board Room Environmental Recycling Scientist to present during the casual buffet Lunch & Learn-Reservation required. PLARN-Plastic Yarn 2:00-4:30 pm WB Town Hall Main Lobby Watch crocheting experts work with plastic yarn made from recycled plastic grocery bags as they create mats, for the homeless. Origami using recycled paper WB Town Hall Main Lobby Try your hand at folding the Township bird, the beautiful Great Blue Heron, using recycled paper. Take it home as a reminder to always Reuse, Reduce and Recycle! Create a bird seed tube feeder Main Lobby Make a simple bird seed feeder using recycled and natural materials. Then hang it on a tree for the birds to enjoy during the winter. Relaxing music and delightful vocals 2:00-4:00 pm Strolling festival style performances. Explore the physiological benefits of recycling as you listen to talented student musicians and singers. Explore a truck WB Town Hall east/main entrance parking area See a special truck in action.
