What we need you to know about signing up for AP classes…
AP classes are difficult! Signing up for an AP class is a commitment! No drops after week 6 of Semester 1. Even then, there is a very comprehensive process that needs to take place before you drop. Take classes you have an actual interest in. Take classes that line up with your potential major. You don’t need a billion AP classes to get into a “good” school. Take as many AP classes as you can handle, not what your friends or other students can handle.

Some final things we need you to know about AP classes
We primarily use student needs and requests to dictate what classes we offer. However, we also have to look at factors such as having enough teachers willing and able to teach that class and room to fit it into a schedule. We'd love to be able to offer classes even though only a small number of students want it or don't get into it, but that is not logistically possible. Taking an AP class is very difficult. Teaching an AP class is extremely difficult. Teaching multiple AP classes is exponentially more difficult. An additional AP class in addition to their already full schedule means time teachers have to take away from their families and other professional obligations. The number of AP classes a student can take is not capped. Students with the fewest number of AP classes who requested a given class are given priority when spots open up. Even if you do not get the AP class you want, for some classes, there are still other options. Students can also take an AP test without taking the course.
