CONTEXT Gender approach has been adopted as a principle in the workplace Women and men benefit equally from service delivered Women’s voices are heared during all meetings Special treatment of vulnerable women. Example: pregnant women are not sent to difficult access places while doing mission “Now and Post 2015, Yes we Must.”

POLICIES The District is implementing a General State Policy. The District is using the SADC protocol as a reference tool while implementing projects The chief of District manages all state services such as provincial department of population, education, security, ect. So, every citizens, women and men benefits from its service “Now and Post 2015, Yes we Must.”

GENDER MANAGEMENT The deputy chief of District, a woman is in charge of gender mainstreaming Gender activties are aimed at serving the population Gender approach is reflected in management work Collaboration with other neighbouring districts is in the work plan “Now and Post 2015, Yes we Must.”

ADVOCACY AND COMMUNICATION ON GENDER
Popularize human Rights and every citizen’s responsibilities towards development through testimonies. E.g: women in decision making post Make use of media to convey gender approach Community sensitization on the fight against gender violence Using the SADC protocol as a basic tool “Now and Post 2015, Yes we Must.”

DOCUMENTATION Promotion of equal participation of men and women in taking responsibilities Mainstream gender approach in all collective activities organized (National identification card, supplementary judgement) The rate of women having ID card has increased to 60% while only 30% had it before The rate of demands for setting up women association increased to 50% (In 2013: 24%, 37% in 2014) “Now and Post 2015, Yes we Must.”

SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT Regular meeting with all responsible of department for the popularization of the SADC protocol on Gender and Development Allocate special budget for gender activities Elaboration of a gender action plan, elaborated and approved by everyone, with special emphasis on social. No official partnership with national structure for the promotion of gender but regular correspondence “Now and Post 2015, Yes we Must.”
