Why HCPS Decided to Pilot Propane
Transportation Improvement Plan: A Work in Progress Why HCPS Decided to Pilot Propane The District’s research identified propane as the most cost effective alternative fuel technology for school buses. The minimum cost impact to facilities and fueling infrastructure. Currently the United States is the largest producer and exporter of the fuel which lends to stability in the market of price and availability. For those districts utilizing natural gas powered vehicles, driver satisfaction has increased due to performance and the quietness over the diesel engine results in improved discipline for students in reducing the ambient noise.
