Recital Hall Mission: The Mission will be developed with the successful Design Team, NAU stakeholders, and NAU PDC Rep’. The focus of this project from Day 1 will be “Teamwork”. 16 Pre-construction phase
Review Pre-construction and Construction requirements in the RFQ and in DP/CMAR contracts. Review the DP’s Agreement so you understand their responsibilities as well Review NAU Design Guidelines & NAU Technical Standards Be ready to submit your Pre-Construction proposal shortly after CMAR Team selection!!! Preparation for ABOR Approval Pricing of GMP at 100%DDs for ABOR submittal Project is contingent on Fundraising

Option to start in May 2018 if fundraising is delayed First items to coordinate - Abatement - Temporary egress for Ardrey -Temporary utilities for HVAC and power

CMAR selected as soon as possible after interviews Begin proposal and contracting period after Thanksgiving Construction is targeted to start May 2017 Option to start in May 2018 if fundraising is delayed

Construction Cost: $10,800,000 to $11,500,000 – which includes Owner’s Costs – Asbestos Abatement, A/V, Security Soft Cost (~30%): $4,000,000 approx. This includes FF&E, DP Fee, Other Owner Costs Total Project Cost: $14,400,000 Estimated Total Gross Square Footage Range: ~18,000 GSF ~250 seats

21 Sustainability & total cost of ownership
This facility is expected to be LEED Gold Certified. CMAR Team (including proposed Sub-Contractors such as MEP Trades) shall have strong knowledge and experience with sustainability initiatives relative to this type of building and with renovation and construction. Pre-construction team must have a strong understanding/experience with energy-efficient HVAC systems. Total Cost of Ownership shall be calculated to demonstrate that building materials and building systems will be selected based on most sustainable criteria.

22 Preconstruction & construction expectations & team approach
Collaboration between DP and CMAR for: dynamic estimating of construction costs throughout the design process to prepare cost estimates that accurately forecast a detailed GMP, detailed scheduling around design and construction efforts. Analyze of phasing options, budget and scope management, constructability reviews, system reviews and value engineering. Active/Engaged participation with constructability from Assessment/Programming through Commissioning. Experience with achieving low Cost of Ownership (energy efficient building with adaptability).

23 Consultants under owner
Geo-Tech investigation: as needed Survey: as needed 3rd party Estimating Firm: to provide independent estimating and validation of DP’s and CMAR’s estimates at 100%DD and GMP phases. Commissioning: Commissioning Agent will be hired by NAU by end of September and will actively participate in design review during the pre-construction phase. Both DP and CMAR will be required to be fully engaged during commissioning activities at the end of construction.

Proposal due date: November 3, 2016 by 1:00 pm 1 Original and 7 Copies + 1 Electronic Version Page Count: Items A – G cannot exceed 20 pages Item A includes the introduction and the bonding letter Tabs and front/back covers do not count as pages unless there is content on them Resumes cannot exceed 1 page each (this is a major change from prior RFQS) Proposed team-member’s projects, not firm’s projects Submittal Certification is 1 page

Refer to RFQ for specifics Turning in submittal late – if mailing, be mindful of slow delivery times Contacting any NAU employee regarding this project other than as outlined in the RFQ (Stephanie Bauer at Not providing the correct number of submittals or exceeding the page limit Submitting in the wrong location Company profiles in Resumes. Resumes should be about the individual, not the firm
