Limited Availability  § Bilingual Learning Centers § Practical Life & Sensorial § Native English speakers will be grouped together for English reading instruction § Based on the Language of the Day § Native Spanish speakers will be grouped together for Spanish reading instruction * 2nd graders begin to receive reading instruction in both languages § Math (English) § Science & Social Studies (Spanish) § Coupled with specialized vocabulary enrichment (30-45 minutes daily)

These are predicted and subject to change Dual Language classes must have a 50/50 split of Native English & Native Spanish Students

20 Selection Levels Priority 1: Student lives in the Mt. Auburn Attendance Zone Priority 2: Student lives in the Woodrow Wilson feeder pattern General: Student lives in District 2/3 of seats are Priority 1, 1/6 are Priority 2, and 1/6 are General. Applications not selected in priority lottery will be entered in the general lottery. Applications not chosen during the lottery will be placed on the wait list. Sibling Preference – 25% of incoming PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten seats will be reserved for siblings. This policy is enacted starting with new students for the school year.

21 PK Requirements ´ To be eligible for the district Pre-Kindergarten Program, a child must be 3 or 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 of the upcoming school year. The child is eligible for enrollment in the Pre-K program if he/she meets any of the following criteria: ´ be unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or ´ be educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program [NSLP]) Income Eligibility Guidelines (USDA); or ´ be homeless; or ´ be the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, whose ordered to active duty by proper authority; or ´ be the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or ´ have ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) (foster care) following an adversary hearing.

22 Accepting Applications
November 28 – January 31st for students entering PK 3, PK 4, and K in August 2017. Online Applications are being accepted at Students entering 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades may call (972) to be added to the waitlist. Families will be notified via Mail/ the Week of February 13th The acceptance deadline is March 20, 2017

23 Transportation Transportation will be provided for students who live more than two miles from the school within Dallas ISD boundaries. Pick-up locations are identified Dallas ISD schools. Families are responsible for their own transportation to nearby pick-up locations.
