What’s data got to do with it - Artists accumulate research data when they make work and when they write about it. This data can take the form of material experimentation, documentation, interviews, surveys and more. Good research data management practices enables sharing and reuse of your data, keeps your data safe, supports your future research and can verify research outcomes. In this session, you will learn how you can manage your research data, and some tools to make life a bit easier.
Altmetrics - Altmetrics can help you track the views, downloads and mentions of your published research, online posts, videos and music. This session is aimed at academic staff and graduate researchers to assist in understanding what altmetrics are, how they are collected and measured, and how you can use and interpret them.
It will include an overview of a selection of altmetrics tools that gather data from social media and other online sources.

12. The Future Buxton Contemporary $26m donation – collection and building
Fender Katsalidis Architects appointed to project
Established in 1996, the Michael Buxton Collection features more than 300 works by 53 of the country’s most significant artists – including Howard Arkley, Ricky Swallow, Tracey Moffat, Emily Floyd and Bill Henson. The collection encompasses a broad range of visual media, ranging from painting, photography and drawings to sculptures and installations.

New visual arts wing in refurbished former mounted police stables
$42m project
A project worth more than $40 million will redevelop the Dodds Street stables into a visual arts wing at the VCA, creating a new entry point to the University and opening the campus to students, local business and residents.

Melbourne Conservatorium of Music moves to Southbank = Louise Hanson-Dyer Music Library moves too.
Existing library space to be expanded (sadly not into the state of the art new “Con”!)
