5 Audition Prep (Music) Tuesday, 9/12 – 2:30-3:15 - Chorus Room
Wednesday, 9/13– 3:00-4:00 - Chorus Room These sessions are NOT required! Mrs. Rice will review all numbers each session. If you don’t/can’t attend, you will need to rehearse independently.

6 Some Info POSSIBILITY of double casting – Delores(?), Mother Superior, Sister Mary Robert, others? There’ll be a spot on the audition form to tell us if you don’t want to be considered for a doubled role; this could impact casting decisions. Guys – while there aren’t a ton of parts/ensemble roles, we’re creating more stage time opportunities for you. Casting: Don’t put yourself in a box –Amy A. Things are flexible.

7 Other info There are over many named characters in this musical. That means we’re looking to cast a lot of students. However, it is still possible that we will have to make cuts. Actors, stage management, and volunteers from Musical Club will use downtime in rehearsals to help construct set/prop elements, paint, organize spaces, etc. All Musical Club Members are responsible for supporting the show— fundraising, volunteering to work on the production (crew, ushering, set building, painting, etc.), even if you don’t want to be on stage!

8 Sister Act - Auditions Who will be in the audition with me?
Ms. Loucks, Mrs. Rice, Mrs. Dickerson, Ms. Gillette, and Ms. Chasse’ What will I have to do? Day 1: Dance! 9 Sister Act – Auditions cont.
Format? ½ hour slots (sign up sheet will be on the callboard) Closed audition Expectations? Characterization and development Research the characters– the movie, musical, and online sources We want to be as true to the original characters as possible; this means that physical and vocal choices are going to influence casting Energy Risk-Taking Preparedness We prefer that you’re memorized Paperwork? There will be an audition form on the webpage; it’s also in front of the callboard. Please have it completed when you arrive for the dance audition Monday, 9/18

10 Other positions… Mary Crowley is our Stage Manager!
Assistant Stage Managers (1-2) Need to fill ASAP Commitment – all acting rehearsals Duties – line notes, setting stage, running show backstage (props, scene changes)

11 A note about commitment…
Because this is a relatively short rehearsal process (remember we’re working around multiple breaks, concerts, mid-terms, etc.), you MUST be committed to the show. Our rehearsal schedule is literally mapped out from auditions until productions, and it’s jam-packed. If you can’t commit, consider auditioning for a smaller role, or perhaps, choosing to participate in a different way. DO NOT say you’re willing to accept any role—including ensemble roles—if you really aren’t. By dropping the show after you’ve decided that now you don’t want an ensemble role, you’re taking away someone else’s opportunity, someone who we may have cut completely. Don’t be that guy.
