SAVE EARTH CREATED BY- NAME- HARLEEN KAUR CLASS-8-E SCHOOL-RYAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, CHD

2 EARTH BEFORE AFTER

3 EARTH Earth, our home planet, otherwise known as the World , or the Globe, is the third planet from the Sun and the only object in the Universe known to harbor life. It is the densest planet in the Solar System and the largest of the four terrestrial planets. Earth is made up of complex, interactive systems that are often unpredictable. Air, water, land, and life—including humans—combine forces to create a constantly changing world. The shape of Earth is approximately oblate spheroid. Due to rotation, the Earth is flattened along the geographic axis and bulging around the equator. Earth’s mass is approximately × 10^24 kg Earth is the only planet whose English name does not derive from Greek/Roman mythology. The name derives from Old English and Germanic. There are, of course, hundreds of other names for the planet in other languages. In Roman Mythology, the goddess of the Earth was Tellus - the fertile soil.

4 REASONS OF POLLUTION ON THE MOTHER EARTH
WATER POLLUTION is the contamination of water bodies(e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater). This form of environmental degradation occurs when pollutants are directly or indirectly discharged into water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds. Water pollution affects the entire biosphere – plants and organisms living in these bodies of water. LAND POLLUTION is the deterioration (destruction) of the of earth’s land surfaces, often directly or indirectly as a result man’s activities and their misuse of land resources. It occurs when waste is not disposed of properly, or can occur when humans throw chemicals onto the soil in the form of pesticides, insecticides and fertilizers during agricultural practices. Exploitation of minerals (mining activities) has also contributed to the destruction of the earth’s surface. WATER POLLUTION LAND POLLUTION

5 REASONS OF POLLUTION ON THE MOTHER EARTH
AIR POLLUTION occurs when harmful substances including  particulates and biological molecules are introduced into Earth’s atmosphere. It may cause diseases, allergies or death in humans; it may also cause harm to other living organisms such as animals and food crops, and may damage the natural or built environment. Human activity and natural processes can both generate air pollution. GLOBAL WARMING is understood to result from an overall, long-term increase in the retention of the sun’s heat around Earth  due to blanketing by “greenhouse gases,” especially CO2 and methane. Emissions of CO2 have been rising at a speed unprecedented in human history, due to accelerating fossil fuel burning that began in the Industrial Revolution. AIR POLLUTION

6 HOW TO SAVE EARTH ?

7 WHAT CAN WE DO TO SAVE EARTH ?
1. TURN OFF THE LIGHTS. Even if you're only going out of the room for a few minutes. Those kilowatts add up) 2. UNPLUG APPLIANCES WHEN NOT IN USE. Some of them, with their complicated timers and instant start-up features, constantly consume small amounts of electricity. 3. SEPARATE YOUR GARBAGE. At our house we have separate garbage cans for glass, paper, plastic, aluminium, wood, organic matter, natural fabrics, synthetic fabrics, and rubber. 4. USE LESS WATER. We have two bricks in our toilet tank. But there's a much simpler way to save water. 5. DON'T MOW THE LAWN. Let it grow. Naturally. Like a meadow. 6. DON'T SHAVE AS OFTEN.I shave once a week. 7. DRIVE SLOWER.I try to maintain a nice, steady 40 miles per hour, the legal minimum on most highways. Also, I roll up the windows. It reduces wind resistance and noise. 8. SHOP WITH A RE-USABLE SHOPPING BAG. And, if you can, walk to the store. These are some was by which we can Save Earth.

8 WORLD EARTH DAY Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22.  Worldwide, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day events in more than 193 countries  are now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network. Earth Day is observed worldwide with rallies, conferences, outdoor activities and service projects. The event is held worldwide to celebrate support for protection of the environment, and has continuously drawn more and more people in each subsequent year. Earth Day brings attention to a large number of issues in requirement of attention, such as  pollution of the, debris left over on land, climate change, related to environment etc.
