Why We Do What We Do 230, ,000 patients annually are subject to preventable harm that leads to their death -Journal of Patient Safety, 2013 It’s up to us as healthcare quality professionals to make an impact and reduce that number! A 2013 study in the Journal of Patient Safety shows that between 230,000 and 440,000 patients annually are subject to preventable harm that leads to their death. Without robust QI efforts, that number would be larger. It’s up to us as healthcare quality professionals to make that number smaller.
