Web Web browser- A software application for retrieving, presenting, and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web. Website- A location connected to the internet that maintains one or more pages on the World Wide Web. Webpage- A hyper page document connected to World Wide Web. Web browser allows you to access websites which are broken down into webpages. Hyperlink - a link from a hypertext file or document to another location or file. Fast way to get to another document or location.

Server- A computer or computer program that manages access to a centralized resource or service in a network. Frees up space on individual workstations. Receiver- the part of a telephone apparatus contained in the earpiece, in which electrical signals are converted into sounds.

Internet- The global system of interconnected computer networks that use the internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link billions of devices worldwide. Largest network in the world. Wi-Fi- A facility allowing computers, smartphones, or other devices to connect to the internet or communicate with one another wirelessly within a particular area. Internet/Wi-fi modem

Software Application software- A program or group of programs designed for end users. These programs are divided into two classes: software and application software. Designed to perform a specific task; i.e. word processing, desktop publishing, etc. Anti-spyware software- A type of program designed to prevent and detect unwanted spyware program installations and to remove those programs if installed. Video editing software- The process of manipulating and rearranging video shots to create a new work. Presentation software- software used to create a sequence of text and graphics, and often audio and video, to accompany a speech or public presentation.

Memory Random access memory (RAM) - a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly Volatile memory - type of storage whose contents are erased when the system's power is turned off or interrupted.

Recording work CD-RW (compact disc rewritable) - a blank compact disc that can be recorded, erased, and rerecorded many times. Worksheet- a file for recording work done or in progress in Spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel.

Wide Area network (WAN) - a computer network in which the computers connected may be far apart, generally having a radius of half a mile or more. (i.e. the Internet) Graphical user interface (GUI)- a visual way of interacting with a computer using items such as windows, icons, and menus, used by most modern operating systems. Windows is a GUI (pronounced goo-ee)

Terabyte - a unit of information equal to one million bytes.
