Responsibilities of the Teacher

Equip students with skills such as collaborating, thoughtful questioning, responding respectfully to others’ ideas, building consensus, compromising, and negotiating. Foster active engagement. Student’s Responsibilities
Respect and appreciate others’ ideas. Develop attentive listening skills by being open- minded and respectful. Increase your collaborating, consensus building, compromising, and negotiating skills. Engage in purposeful conversations with a variety of audiences and purposes. Increase writing skills for college and/or career by using the stages of writing, avoiding plagiarism, and using viable sources Commit to growth. Learn and master the required content. Be cooperative and have fun!

Senior English is designed to help seniors prepare for college and/or career by doing the following:
Increase skills in reading comprehension, writing, speaking and listening. Promote and develop self-awareness. Clarify thoughts and work through emotions. Develop sophisticated language and communication skills. Empower students.

Grading Scale 100—90 = A 89—80 = B 79—70 = C 69—60 = D
Odds and Ends to know Supplies you will need… A three ring binder with a few dividers. A writing book (a 70 page note book will work). Colored pencils (for coloring). Pens and pencils. 1 or 2 highlighters. There will be Writing, Classwork, Projects, Quizzes, Homework and a Final Exam. Grading Scale 100—90 = A 89—80 = B 79—70 = C 69—60 = D 59 and Below = F
