Extended YETS 2016-2017 Reference time :
13 Weeks from Beam off until we close the SPS (12th December until the 24th March) EDMS: EN-ACE D. Mcfarlane

Key dates Beam off at 06:00 on Monday the 12th December
Access into BA7, TI2, TAG41, TAG42 & TI8: Monday the 12th December until Friday the 24th March 2017. 13 weeks of access. Access into BA3,4,5 & 6: Thursday the 15th December until Friday the 24th March 2017. 12.4 weeks of access. XMAS holidays: Thursday the 22nd December to Wednesday the 4th January inclusive Access into BA1 & BA2: Thursday the 5th January until Friday the 24th March 2017. 11.4 weeks of access. 4 weeks foreseen for EPC tests and cold-checkout by OP. SPS will take beam from the PS on Monday the 24th April 2017, followed by 1 week for beam setup. SPS ready to give beam to the LHC on Monday the 1st May 2017! EN-ACE D. Mcfarlane

Current schedule for week 1 (12th to 16th December)
Monday 12th December Beam off 06:00Hrs Access possible in BA7, TI2, TAG41, TAG42, TI8. All water and power to remain on (Machine is in standby) SPS ring closed to everyone except: RP: will survey the tunnel Magnet team: to remove covers on the magnets. Tuesday 13th December Magnet team conduct tests SPS closed (to everyone except Magnet team) Wednesday 14th December Thursday 15th December Water can be cut and the machine electrically isolated BA1 and BA2 remain closed for RP cool down BA3, BA4, BA5, BA6, BA7 are open for general access Friday the 16th December BA3, BA4, BA5, BA6, BA7 are open for general The access system will be switched over to CSA control The SPS is effectively still in run mode. EN-HE: BA5 Underground Revamping ECX5 - RP support needed - 5 days / 6p. EN-EL: BA4 Surface Replacement of a control unit in the ESD1/K5 switchboard - 8h - 2p. BA5 Surface De-cabling campaign. EN-CV BA6 Surface: Replacement of demineralised water and chilled water cooling station PLCs (including input and output cards). BA80 Surface: Consolidation of ventilation control cubicle

Surface works only. Access to tunnel required EN-CV: Consolidation of ventilation control cubicle EN-EL: Replacement of a control unit in the ESD1/K5 switchboard. EN-CV: Replacement of demineralised water and chilled water cooling station PLCs. EN-HE: Renovation of the over head crane (ECX5) EN-EL: De-cabling campaign.

Another Request from EPC
Voici un mail pour décrire la tache de commissioning des 5 nouveaux bypass (type N09) de TT20. Il s’agit des convertisseurs ci-dessous (disposés au BA2): RPPCG.BA2.SBYH2109 RPPCG.BA2.SBYH2113 RPPCG.BA2.SBYV2103 RPPCG.BA2.SBYV2113 N09.BA2.SPARE1 Premièrement, pour tester les bypass, il est nécessaire de faire fonctionner la demi-station MBE.2103M (type R120), pour alimenter les bendings de TT20. Les bypass ne permettent que de soutirer du courant sur certains de ces dipôles. Lors de nos tests, tout le travail sera localisé en surface, mais nous enverrons du courant dans les dipôles de TT20. Nous aurons également besoin d’avoir accès au faux-planchés pour le déplacement des câbles DC (des anciens vers les nouveaux convertisseurs). Il y a une restriction de passage uniquement aux piétons dans l’environnement proche des anciens et des nouveaux bypass. Et donc une interdiction d’accès sous les faux-planchés autour de ceux-ci sans autorisation. Les services absolument nécessaires durant la période de test sont: - Pré-requis : Autorisation d’accès au faux-planchés HSE - Cooling dans le BA2 opérationnel pour le refroidissement des convertisseurs (1/2 station et bypass) EN-CV - Refroidissement des dipôles de TT20 opérationnel EN-CV - Distribution électrique déconsigné au BA2 : EN-EL et TE-EPC Départ 18KV : EMD112/A2 Départs 400V (R120): EBD2/A ; EBD217/A2.04 (chaufferette) Départ 400V (bypass): EBD2/A - Concernant les EIS, demande de la sortie de chaine (SPS n°10) du convertisseur principal. TE-EPC Et pour finir, le balisage, il faudra donc : - identification des tests aux entrées du BA2 (par TE-EPC), - un balisage devra être mis en place dans le tunnel près des dipôles (par TE-MSC) EN-ACE D. Access rights and safety equipment
EVERYONE who enters the SPS MUST have the following: Completed the correct courses. (sir.cern.ch) CERN Safety Introduction. Electrical Safety Awareness. (19 choices) Self Rescue Mask Training. (4 choices) CERN – Beam Facilities. SPS – Machine. The correct access authorisation (via EDH). CHECK YOUR ACCESS RIGHTS HAVE NOT EXPIRED!!!! Zone Code “SPS” for access into the SPS Zone Code “NA_TARG” for access into BA80 Zone Code “TAG41 - AWAKE (ex-CNGS) (TAG41)” for access into the old CNGS areas Zone Code “SPS-KN-000” for “Autorisation conduite RTL” Zone Code “SPS-KN-001” for “SPS Shutdown Padlock” (only used during Long Shutdowns) Safety shoes. Biocell. Electronic dosimetre. Passive dosimetre. (All contractors must have an additional company passive dosimetre!!) Helmet plus Light. A valid approved IMPACT.
