Change of Behavioral Psychological Symptom of Dementia in long term care facility The behavioral pathology in Alzheimer's Disease Scale; BEHAVE-AD two-way ANOVA P<0.05 Worsen worsen Control n=11 Change of BEHAVE-AD Score improved This study was performed at long term care facility in Japan. In the intervention ward all (20) nursing staff had Humanitude training and control ward staff (number of staff 20) continued conventional care. Both wards served for 20 cognitive impaired elderlies (age over 75, MMSE<20) each. The Behavioral Psychological Symptom of Dementia was followed with BEHAVE-AD scoring for 3 months. In 3 months follow up, there was significant improvement of BEHAVE-AD score in Humanitude arm. This study was performed at long term care facility in Japan. the change in communication with patients Humanitude Control (%) (%) This slide shows the result of interview with the nursing staff about the change in communication with their patients 1 month after of the study entry. Only 9.1% of the nursing staff in control arm noticed the change in the communication with the patients. All the nursing staff who had Humanitude training had noticed the change in the communication with the patients. Patients n=13 Patients n=11 100% nursing staff said their patients showed some change In communication. 90.1% of nursing staff said there was no change in communication with patients. All nurse in the ward had Humanitude training and the Behavioral Psychological Symptom (BPSD) of the patients in the ward were evaluated before and 3 months after the training.
