6. Prayer before Worship
Lord Jesus, in the waters of my baptism you called me both to faith and to be a part of your army of believers. The spiritual battle against sin and unbelief is intense and difficult.
I confess that I have lost many struggles, and at times don’t even seem to try hard to overcome temptation. Forgive me, and wash away my sins in your holy blood.
Through this series of sermons and worship services this summer, help me put on your full armor so that I might win the victory that you have already obtained for me and for all people through your cross and empty tomb. Amen.
