While in Corinth, AD57, while on his way back to Jerusalem Paul writes down the full gospel (not just portions in letters) Recipients: To “all in Rome .. Who are called to be his holy people” – i.e. the church. The church probably started after the Day of Pentecost Acts 2 v 5 “God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. … visitors from Rome) Jews and Gentiles Purpose: To document the full gospel while he was alive To prepare the way for his coming on his way to Spain To explain the relationship between Jew and Gentile
