Risks / Mitigation Point of ‘no-return’ Point of ‘no-return’
Activity / Equipment List of major Risks Mitigation Remarks BI.DIS Reliability, performance: Heating of PFN coils New coil design is being made, improvements continue after installation BI.SMV Performance: New magnets aperture not compatible 50MeV beam BI.TSTR Reliability and performance: New system without experience Sufficient beam time for HST should allow for 1st experience. Injection region 1L1 Reliability and performance: Removal of SMH septa means no return to proton injection possible Integration accuracy: Injection region very complex and full with mm clearance between equipment Mock-up assembly in building 867 in order to identify most of the possible integration problems Support structure needs to fixed to floor and wall, existing cables on floor could be an obstruction Inspection after EYETS 2016 cabling clearing campaign BI.KSW Performance: Very complex timing-pulse structure. Commissioning is done one waveform at a time. Additional information
Strong interdependences with other groups? Injection zone 1L1 → BSW-TSTR (TE-ABT), BLM-BTV (BE-BI), H0H- dump (EN-STI), Vacuum (TE-VSC), Handling (EN-HE), Powering (EN-EL), Cooling (EN-VC), etc. Manpower: requirement for drilling holes in wall and floor for 1L1 Installation. Issues / Concerns: PFN’s and Controls ready ‘just in time’, without fully testing in Lab. 30 August 2016 Linac4-PSB 160 MeV connection readiness review Equipment status (Linac4 and LIU-PSB) Wim Weterings - TE/ABT

Summary TE/ABT equipment is expected to be ready for full connection by end 2016 Mock-up assembly 1L1 is ongoing in building 867 Improvements for reliable operation will continue in case of early installation (DIS PFN, KSW controls) Long RP cooldown in the tunnel is delaying the 1L1 installation ABT teams can start working on DIS, SMV, KSW No proton injection possible with new equipment 30 August 2016 Linac4-PSB 160 MeV connection readiness review Equipment status (Linac4 and LIU-PSB) Wim Weterings - TE/ABT
