STOP Heels NEGATIVE PRESSURE At all times
ANY OF THESE APPLY ? IF YES Are the heels constantly in contact with any surface i.e., bed or stool? Is the patient immobile? Always ensure both heels have NEGATIVE PRESSURE Are one or both legs ‘limp’ due to stroke, injury or other medical condition? At all times (even when on an air mattress) Is there already pressure damage or discolouration to heels? *Negative Pressure* No Contact with any surface! Elevate legs with pillows to ensure the heels are not touching the bed etc. Is the patient unable to reposition their self or their legs?
