About MEET

Scope of MEET MEET is a non-profit association incorporated under French law The scope of MEET is focused on the development of a common strategy for French research and testing centres to consolidate and promote their large panel of expertise for naval and maritime industries MEET seeks strengthened cooperation with European partners, especially through professional associations like ECMAR, within the scope of European funded maritime R&D programs Membership of MEET is open to R&D centres providing testing and simulation expertise to naval and maritime development projects, whatever their legal statute academic or commercial, public or private 3/03/2015

Background Considering the large number and extensive capabilities of the French centres involved in maritime R&D it has been largely agreed within the maritime community on the need to consolidate and promote this offer of expertise to support industrial applied research This objective has been endorsed by the CORICAN (Advisory Council for Naval Applied Research and Innovation) The creation of MEET was approved by the CORICAN in July 2014 and effective in January 2015 3/03/2015

Mission The primary mission of MEET is to publicize the members experimental and simulation capabilities to the designers and manufacturers of maritime systems and equipment for their R&D, test and evaluation needs MEET contributes to coordinate facilities occupancy in view to improve their availability for industrial projects MEET creates a technology forum to stimulate new fields of collaborative work between the members and industry MEET aims to be an active contributor to European corresponding organisations 3/03/2015

Organization The Executive Directors of the member organisations meet once a year at the General Assembly; the GA makes all important decisions for the Association Each organisation delegates a Board member for three years ; the Board oversees the Association activities; it meets every three months The day-to-day activity is operated by a bureau of three members elected by the Board The Technical committee is a forum largely open to members’ experts and to industry representatives; it discusses and formulates proposals for action to the Board 3/03/2015
