The Family’s Share Sam has inherited $1,000 to be distributed among his brother and sister equally. Later, the first part is divided among his brother’s five children and the second part is divided among his sister’s two sons. Give the expression that represents how the inheritance was distributed.

The Investment Gamble Andy has $1,500 that he invested in one stock. In one day, his money was doubled. The next day he had a profit of $165 and the day after a loss of $238. Write an expression for this and determine his present amount.

I Love to Shop! Melanie had $35 in her purse and then withdrew $200 more from her bank account. She bought a pair of jeans for $34.00, 2 shirts for $16.00 each, and 2 pairs of shoes for $24.00 each. Give the final expression, and determine how much money Melanie had at the end of the shopping day.

Factory Cost A small factory employs 98 workers. Of these, 10 receive a wage of $150 per day and the rest receive $85.50 per day. To the management, a week is equal to 6 working days. How much does the factory pay out for each week? If the same factory has supplies expenses of $ a day in addition to the wages above and makes $60, in a week, what is the factory’s total profit or loss in one week?

Picky Cookies Emily had 30 cookies to bring to school for her birthday. Three students wanted two cookies each. Then, a new student came to the school that day and he wanted three cookies. Then, one of the three kids gave their two cookies back. Emily was still passing out cookies. How many cookies did Emily have left to pass out after the students gave theirs back?
