Landform – waterfall A waterfall is a river that suddenly falls downward into a pool of water.

Niagara Falls The Niagara River flows through New York and Canada and then flows to the waterfall. The Iroquois people named it “Niagara Falls” meaning “thunder of waters” because the thundering sound the water makes when it comes down. Niagara Falls is 43 ̊N latitude and 79 ̊ W longitude.
