Background (cont.) We have an inventory of over 500,000 pieces of equipment that need to be tracked and/or inspected We are currently using a series of Excel spreadsheets to track equipment and record inspection information. 6/13/2007 Clear Lake Chemical Company

Enable users to track all facility and laboratory equipment Enable users to know: When part replacement and inspections are due If parts have been replaced If inspections have been completed Who is responsible for the equipment Who actually completed the inspection or work on the equipment. 6/13/2007 Clear Lake Chemical Company

The functionality the system should have is listed below: Add or remove equipment Identify equipment location Mark equipment to be taken out of service Update equipment inspection or service date Calculate next inspection or service date Identify all equipment due for inspection Identify any equipment that is past due for inspection or service Identify any pertinent data missing from each equipment Search for equipment by location, type, responsible personnel Reporting functionality with detailed equipment information 6/13/2007 Clear Lake Chemical Company

10 Special Issue or Constraints
System should be in place by January 1, 2008 In the future we would like for inspectors to be able to use hand held electronic devices to record inspections and then upload data into main system. This process will help improve speed and accuracy of tracking equipment data.
