BC Housing Overview Develops and administers social housing and programs across the housing continuum, from shelters to affordable home ownership Licensing & Consumer Services branch (former HPO) responsible for builder licensing, education, home warranty insurance and consumer protection National Housing Act insured lender - $2.5 billion mortgage portfolio – AAA rated Overview of BC Housing Crown agency created in 1967 – celebrating 50 year anniversary Currently under Ministry of Natural Gas Development Consistent leadership under Minister Coleman through many ministries – commitment and direction Social housing and rent supplement programs Licensing and Consumer Services is former Homeowner Protection Office Responsible for licensing residential builders, education and consumer protection National Housing Act insured lender Allows creative and innovative projects and partnerships – mortgage portfolio currently $2.5 billion – AAA credit rating

Housing Statistics In 2015/16, BC Housing partnered with non-profits to: Assist more than 104,025 households in 200 communities Create new housing options for over 1,700 households License 5,600 residential builders Enroll 24,000 new homes in home warranty insurance Forecasted provincial contributions for 2016/17 – $544.5M In 2015/16, BC Housing: Created housing options for over 1,700 individuals and families Assisted more than 104,025 households in 200 communities across B.C. BC Housing works with non-profit sector to deliver many of these programs Licensed 5,600 residential builders and 24,000 new homes enrolled in home warranty insurance In 2016/17, we anticipate $544.5 million total in provincial contributions

New Funding Programs Non-Profit Asset Transfer (NPAT) – transfer up to 350 leased properties to non-profit housing partners Provincial Investment in Affordable Housing (PIAH) – $355 million to create 2,000+ units over 5 years Investment in Housing Innovation (IHI) – $516 million to create 2,900 units: the largest single year investment in Canada Community Partnership Initiatives (CPI) – construction financing for self sustaining projects Funding programs: Non Profit Asset Transfer – allowing non-profits to purchase land leased from PRHC for their existing housing developments Expected to transfer up to 350 properties to non profits Provincial Investment in Affordable Housing (PIAH) – Feb 2016 $355 million to create over 2,000 units affordable housing for low and moderate income housing for people across the province over five years Note: **$50 million of the PIAH funding has been earmarked specifically for Aboriginal housing** IHI – Investment in Housing Innovation program $516 million towards 68 projects, approx 2900 units – largest single-year housing investment by any province in Canada Will produce 5,500 jobs – housing will serve wide range of needs Community Partnership InitiativesI – advice, referrals to partnership opportunities and long-term financing for self sustaining developments In total, the Province announced $855 million in new funding for affordable housing this year
