3 Unit 2: Knowing Your Learning Style
The students will discover their strengths and weaknesses of their learning style. The students will analyze factors that determine the lens that they see their education through. The students will conduct a self-evaluation of their type of personality and how it influences their learning. The students will determine the important factors that influence their learning. The students will comprehend how their learning can be maximized through choice of activities. The students will understand the positive impact of knowing how they learn. 5 Unit 3: Intelligence & the Senses
The students will understand the basic concepts of intelligence. The students will look into factors that influence one’s intelligence. The students will conduct a self-evaluation of their intelligence through online resources. The students will interact to effectively understand multiple intelligences. The students will comprehend how intelligence impacts their learning. The students will apply concepts of intelligence theory in their own intelligence tests. Key Vocabulary Intelligence, intelligence quotient, sample size, multiple intelligence, biological measures, linguistic, logical- mathematical, spatial, musical, body-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal.

6 Unit 4: Character The students will understand adulthood vs mature adulthood. The students will discuss the virtues of character. The students will define character. The students will conduct a self-evaluation of their character traits. The students will observe examples and discuss scenarios demonstrating character traits. The students will recognize character traits in their own lives by giving examples of them. The students will recognize character traits in those they view as role models. The students will apply character traits and virtues to their own lives. 7 Unit 5: Violence - Home, School, Society
The students will understand how violence impacts them personally. The students will discuss violence and how it impacts them. The students will define the pathway to potentially violent behavior. The students will discuss scenarios and go through examples of how to avoid a violent confrontation. The students will recognize character traits in others that may lead to violent behaviors. Students will define the impact violence has on society. Key Vocabulary Violence, violent behaviors, family violence, street violence, generational violence.

8 Unit 6: Addiction The students will define the impact addiction has on society. The students will discuss scenarios and go through examples of addictive behaviors. The students will define the pathway to potentially addictive behavior. The students will recognize traits in others that may lead to addiction. The students will understand how addiction impacts them personally. Key Vocabulary Addiction, addictive behaviors, compulsion, compulsive dependency, co-dependency.

9 Unit 7: Memory The students will understand the importance of memory.
The students will discuss scenarios and go through examples of where memory is important. The students will participate in memory-testing exercises. The students will recognize the importance memory plays in success in life. The students will understand how their efforts in memory impacts them personally. 10 Unit 8: Setting Goals & Time Management
The students will understand the importance of setting goals. The students will discuss scenarios and go through examples of where goal setting is important. The students will participate in goal setting exercises. The students will recognize the importance goal setting is to success in life. The students will understand how their efforts in setting goals impacts them personally. The students will understand the importance of time management. The students will discuss scenarios and go through examples of where time management is important.
