Program vision: Better healthcare through effective and innovative educated health professions leaders.

Program mission: To produce exemplary leaders and scholars who will advance the field of health professions education care locally, regionally and internationally.

Program objectives: The program is designed to :
1) Provide in-depth training in all aspects of health professions education. 2) Help applicants acquire the knowledge and skills to advance health sciences education at their own institution to the highest international standards.

Program objectives: 3) Provide health professions education leaders with a broad and rigorous foundation in the theory and practice of education. 4) Enrich the field of health professions education with scholars who will advance understanding and practice of education in the health profession.

Description of the program
Six core courses, 4 electives and a research thesis. The program will be completed in two years. 4 semesters: 2-3 courses per semester. 3 weeks per semester

Attendance is MANDATORY. Participants are required to complete all the assignments.

ME800- Instruction and Assessment in Health Profession Education. ME801- Curriculum and Program Evaluation in Health Profession ME802-Scholarship in Health Profession Education. ME803- Leadership in Health Profession Education. ME825- Assessment Methods. ME894-Research Method.

ME820- Medical Simulation. ME821- Introduction to Quantitative Data Analysis. ME822- Program Evaluation. ME823- Ethics and Professional Standards. ME824- Faculty Development. ME826- Using Standardized Patients for Assessment. ME827- Biostatistics.

Who will facilitate the program?

LOCATION Courses are offered on King Abdulaziz University campus.

The role of the participants:
Participants attend from Saturday to Wednesday 9:00 a.m- 5:00 p.m during the 3 week(s) of the course. Core courses last two weeks and electives one week during each semester.

The role of participants:
The instruction approaches are: student-centered, interactive, collaborative, group discussions and projects. For papers and projects, students use their professional situation as laboratory, and are encouraged to use the class work and thesis as grist for scholarship.

After the end of the course week(s), students complete a final paper. They are encouraged to use their own institution as a laboratory in which to test theories and develop programs to be reported in their final paper.

Admission criteria: The applicant should be Saudi.
2. A bachelor degree in a health specialty.

Admission criteria: 3. Applicants are health professional leaders in any of the following areas: Academia. Health Organizations. Professional Societies. International Health Agencies.

TOFEL SCORES: PBT 550 CBT 213 IBT 80 5. Priority will be given to applicants with a certificate in medical education.
