2. Advent wreath
To make an Advent wreath is a habit existing since the century. Nowadays this wreath is made by pine branches and decorated with 4 candles. The third candle is pink and the other three are purple. Each candle simbolizes an idea: 1. the faith, 2. the hope, 3. the joy, 4. the love.

3. Christmas tree
In Hungary we decorate the tree on the 24th of December and it stands till Epiphany (January 6).
Hungarian tradition is to decorate the tree with candies, called ‘szaloncukor’.
The decoration on the top of the tree is the finial.
In Hungary the Little Jesus brings the presents for children.
The gifts are placed under the tree.

4. Nativity PLAY It’s –not only- a Hungarian tradition.
It’s a folk play that tells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. Actors dressed as shepherds and go from house to house. Sacred songs, comic dialogues evoke the events of Jesus' birth.
The 3 wise brings to Jesus crandle: gold frankincense and myrrh.
The 3 wise’s name are: Gáspár ,Menyhért ,Boldizsár. (in Hungarian)
