20 Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives but not convicted of “high crimes and misdemeanors” by the US Senate. On the perjury charge the vote was 55 to 45 NOT to remove him (45 Democrats and 10 Republicans voted not to remove). On the obstruction of justice charge the vote was 50 to 50 (5 Republicans voted to not remove him). The vote wasn’t really that close, because to REMOVE the President, 67 votes are needed.
