Coaching Multiple Sports
Started with my kids in Huntsville Doubles chance to win state Can carry over experience from one to the other. Lets the athletes know it is possible to do more than one sport. Coaches Expectations Be early, we expect our athletes to be early so we need to set the example. Have high expectations and the athletes will respond. We want to win all aspects of the night from the time we get off the bus. Expect your players to look nice and act appropriately. We never leave a mess at someone else’s field, a restaurant or our field. Make sure your players understand. These athletes are our responsibility; do not allow them to go to the restroom unless they have a buddy. We have a tradition of singing the school song when we arrive in Weimar, make sure the tradition carries on. Be positive around our athletes. We have a great group of kids they just need some guidance in the right direction. If you have to get onto a player try to find something they do well later and let them know the positive also. We are going to have to build these athletes up. A lot of them have a very low self confidence. I totally believe a guy has to play good to feel good where a girl has to feel good to play good. We need to work a lot on the mental side. IT IS A GREAT DAY TO BE COAHING THE WEIMAR LADYCATS!!

Coaches Off Season Do you coach one lesson for 20 years or do you teach 20 lessons once. What worked and what did not work. If changes are needed how will you change. What new distractions did you have to deal with. What was the result and how can it be handled differently. What will your theme be for upcoming season. What new drills will you have to teach areas you were weak in. What coaches brain will you pick before next season.

What Creates a Winner? Winner vs. Whiner Passive vs. Aggressive
Lack of Fear Dream Chaser vs. Dream Stealer (Bozo the Clown and Don’t put pressure on my daughter) Following a Dream Must Buy In WIN Traditions

Who makes the call? Do you call pitches? Do you call pitchouts?
Do you take full infield? Do you film your games? Do you give your runners freedom to make decisions on the bases? What is your first and third philosophy? Do you have rules you must follow? How do you create runs?
23
Full Infield vs. Sideline
Advantages of Full Infield 1. Get a true feel of your position. 2. Get to adjust to the wind and sun. 3. Get extra practice on cuts and backup. 4. A chance to get out the nerves. 5. Can be intimidating to the other team.
24
Base Running Passive vs. Aggressively Smart
Always looking to go two bases. Run bases while hitting live. Always re-teach expectations on every base based on outs and direction of the ball. Lady Cats Win every Wednesday.
26
Job vs. Legacy A lot of other jobs you can make a lot of money and not be remembered when you leave. Coaching you can create and leave behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. You will affect more lives than you can ever imagine. WHAT WILL YOUR HEADLINE READ WHEN YOU FINISH YOUR COACHING CAREER. WHAT WILL YOUR STORY BE!!
