2 Today we are going to learn:
How and when to use Present Continuous tense to talk about things that are happening now and temporary situations

3 Why are you looking at your phone all the time?
My cousin is staying with me this week. She is coming here. I am waiting for her to call. Are you enjoying staying with your cousin? I usually wake up late… so now I am waking up early. I am eating so much chocolate, but usually I try not to. + Subject + be (am/is/are) + Ving Subject + be (am/is/are) + not + Ving ? Be + subject + Ving? I am = I’m You are = you’re he is = he’s she is = she’s it is = it’s we are = we’re they are = they’re

4 Why are you looking at your phone all the time?
My cousin is staying with me this week. She is coming here. I am waiting for her to call. Are you enjoying staying with your cousin? We use the Present Continuous to talk about actions that are happening right now or around now. At the moment, this week, this month, this year Now

5 What are you doing right now?
I am watching an English language video. I am sitting in front of a screen. I am listening to Tamara and Yuliya.

6 I usually wake up late… so now I am waking up early.
I am eating so much chocolate now, but usually I try not to. We use the Present Continuous to talk about temporary situations.

7 Oliver works as an accountant. Now he is travelling around the world.
Oliver usually… During his trip he… Wake up at 7 a.m. Oliver usually wakes up at 7 a.m. Eat English breakfast very fast Drive to work Have lunch in a café near his office Go out with friends after work Go to the gym twice a week Go clubbing at the weekend Wake up 5 a.m. During his travels he’s waking up at 5 a.m. Eat local food slowly Walk around all day Cook his own lunch Hang out with the locals

8 Are you enjoying it? I want her to go back home sooner.
I am wanting her to go back home sooner. Words that describe senses: see, hear, taste, smell, feel. Verbs connected with feelings and emotions: dislike, love, prefer, want, wish. Verbs connected with thinking and opinions: understand, believe, imagine, guess. Are you enjoying it?

9 Put the words in brackets in the correct form:
